Her House is Air, blown and cast glass, pen nib, feather, oil paint
25 x 16cm
The inspiration for this piece came from finding the body of a Peregrine Falcon washed up on a beach. The talons of the bird were cast in glass and then suspended from a peregrine falcon feather inside a blown glass dome, and a line from a poem by Welsh poet, Gillian Clarke, was engraved (along with a flock of birds), on the base.
This piece won The Warm Glass Prize 2012 and The Adrian Henri Poetry in Art Prize in 2015.
